Victoria Local Guides is operated by Chris Cochrane, P.R.E.C. (Bold Home Team, eXp Realty), based in Victoria, BC, Canada. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

1. What We Collect

We only collect information you voluntarily provide:

• Name and email address — when you subscribe to receive your weekend plan or follow-up resources.
• Weekend preferences — group type, area, budget, duration, and vibe selections you make in the planner form. This information is used solely to generate your personalized plan.
• Phone number — only if you interact with our voice planner feature or opt in to SMS updates.

We do not collect payment information, government IDs, or sensitive personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate and deliver your personalized Victoria weekend plan.
• To send occasional local guides, neighbourhood insights, and Victoria real estate market information relevant to the Victoria area (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To follow up as a real estate professional if you express interest in Victoria real estate (never automatic — only if you indicate interest).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Ever.

3. Third Parties We Use

Your information may be processed by the following trusted third-party services to deliver our product:

• Cloudflare — website hosting and infrastructure (privacy policy)
• Anthropic — AI model that generates your activity plan. Your preferences are sent to Anthropic's API to produce your plan. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models (privacy policy)
• Lofty (Chime Technologies) — CRM platform used to store your contact information and deliver email and SMS communications (privacy policy)

4. Data Retention

We retain your contact information for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Generated weekend plans are stored for up to 90 days to enable shareable plan links, then automatically deleted.

5. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Withdraw consent and request deletion of your information.
• Know how your information is being used.

6. Cookies & Analytics

Victoria Local Guides does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We do not run third-party analytics scripts. Cloudflare may collect basic server-side request logs (IP address, request time, response code) as part of infrastructure operation — this data is not used for marketing and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

7. Security

Your data is stored in Cloudflare's D1 database infrastructure, encrypted at rest and in transit. We follow reasonable security practices for a service of this size, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Victoria Local Guides is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us for immediate deletion.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
